New this year - All Races Start and Finish

at the Elgin County Railway Museum at 225 Wellington St, St Thomas.

It can be challenging to see where the museum entrance is if you have never been there before so we will have a greeter and some kind of signage so you won’t miss the entrance off of Wellington St. There is lots of parking on site and volunteers will help you find a good parking spot close to the venue.

The morning starts inside the museum with registration and our Health Expo. The museum has made 3 trains and their interactive model train room, the History in Motion room available for everyone to enjoy and explore pre- and post-race. Runners and their supporters are welcome to arrive any time after 7am.

The start/finish line will be on the path between the Railway Museum and the CASO Station.

It will be well marked with a large arch and fencing. Runners will line up east of the start/finish line to start all races.

The RB Half Marathon will start at 8:30am. We have told a few runners in error that it is an 8am start but because all our races overlap at some points on the course it is best for all concerned that we start this race a little later at 8:30am. There will be a few opening ceremonies at approximately 8:15am for the half marathon and the traditional train whistle to start the race. We apologize for any inconvenience this different start time may have caused.

A second opening ceremony will happen in advance of the 5km and 10km runs and will start shortly after the start of the

RB Half Marathon at 8:45am.

The Debbie Hamilton & the Cooperators 10km run will start at 9am sharp with the traditional train whistle start and then the Masco 5km runners will line up quickly behind for a 9:10am start time.

All 3 courses will be well marked and supported with volunteers, police and React members at road crossings and closures. There will be a few water stations along all routes with water and Gatorade available for the runners. St. John’s Ambulance will also be on and around the routes in case of emergency. We will also have cyclists leading each the first-place runners male and female in all 3 races as well as cyclists sweeping the back of the race course to ensure everyone finishes their race safely.

The children’s Yarmouth Group 1km Choo Choo Challenge will start on the path system beside the Railway Museum and head east toward the Joe Thornton arena to a turnaround point and back to the start line at 10:30am. The entire course will be supported by volunteers and lined with balloons and chalk drawings to encourage the little runners. Parents are encouraged to run with their little ones or support from the sidelines.
