Three and a half years ago, I was faced with a life-altering diagnosis: stage 4 advanced melanoma. After two successful battles through surgeries and treatments, I came to understand that healing is more than surviving—it’s about finding strength, balance, and purpose. Running became that strength.
Just sixteen months ago, even walking around the block felt impossible as I navigated the side effects of recovery. But with the unwavering support of my local gym, MVMTS, and the encouragement of the incredible London running community, I discovered not only my legs again—but also my heart, my spirit, and a renewed mission.
Within six months, I accomplished what once felt impossible: crossing the finish line of my first Half Marathon at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 2024. Soon after, I embraced the opportunity to become Run Club Director of Frontrunners LDN, a local chapter of Frontrunners International. Together, we’ve built more than just a run club—we’ve created a safe, welcoming space for 2SLGBTQ+ runners to connect, belong, and thrive. Now, I begin the next chapter of my journey: training for my first full marathon.

That’s why the Railway City Road Races feel like the perfect race to be part of my journey—a local event supporting a great cause, with distances that fit seamlessly into marathon training. It offers the excitement and energy of a big city race while still carrying the warmth and connection of a small-town community.
Running has become far more than a sport. It is my ultimate weapon against fear, my path to resilience, and a gateway into a community that lifts me higher every day. As The Run Parlour's Railway City Road Races Ambassador, I am proud to share this journey—hoping my story inspires others to lace up, take that first step, and discover the strength that lies within them.
