The 10th Anniversary of the Railway City Road Races kicked off with an early morning start under spectacular weather—perfect for both running and capturing some amazing race day views. With over 1000 people in attendance, the energy was incredible. We saw more participants, volunteers, and supporters than ever before, all coming together to celebrate a decade of this amazing St. Thomas running experience. With fears of an unusually warm September day starting to creep in, fog started to fall on the finish line to pleasantly cool everyone down, and cap off yet another amazing race day.
A huge thank you goes out to our incredible sponsors, including Glass Canada, Wendy’s, Debbie Hamilton & The Co-Operators, Masco, Doug Tarry Homes, and many more. Their generous contributions and ongoing support really helped make this milestone event such a success.
Special thanks to the Railway City Health Hut for putting on a fantastic Wellness Expo, which was held in the historic Elgin County Railway Museum. The museum turned into a great space for runners and visitors to refresh, connect, and explore wellness options, adding a unique localized touch to the experience.
Of course, we can’t forget our amazing volunteers. Without your dedication, this event wouldn’t be where it is today. Volunteers are always the backbone of the Railway City Road Races, and we’re so grateful for your continued support over the last 10 years.
Finally, congratulations to all of our runners for crossing the finish line in every race! Between the ten-year runners and the first timers, your hard work, determination, and enthusiasm truly embody the spirit of this event, and we can’t thank you enough for devoting your time to prepare and compete.
We can’t wait to see everyone back on the course in 2025 for another unforgettable day of races!
